The Registrar is a whole time Officer of the University and
is appointed by the Syndicate, on the recommendation of the
Selection Board. He is the custodian of the Common Seal and
the academic records of the University. He is the Secretary
of almost all the Statutory Bodies of the University. He is
also the Principal Officer of the University to deal the
matters with Government and other departments. He is
responsible for all matters connected with the
administration of the University and performs such other
duties as may be prescribed / entrusted. He is assisted by
the following officers:

Establishment Section
Main functions & responsibilities of the Section are

Students’ Record Section
Main functions & responsibilities of the Section are:

To process the cases of verification of F.Sc Certificates
of newly admitted undergraduate students from
concerned boards.

To process the cases of disable students for fee exemption
/ free hostel facilities.
-
Process the cases of verification of IDPs students for fee
exemption.
-
To process the cases of all undergraduate, master and
postgraduate students for Lahore Transport Company (LTC)
Green Card and keep follow up..
- To process the disciplinary cases of the students
- To process the migration cases of the students
-
To process the allocation of seats, schedule for academic
year
-
To process the applications of all undergraduate and
postgraduate students (related to veterinary / animal
science disciplines) for registration with Pakistan
Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC), Islamabad

To process the cases of NOC / registration with the
Pakistan Pharmacy Council (PCP)
-
To make entries of requisite information of all
undergraduate students in online Student Record management
System
-
To gather, compile and finalize the information related to
students on the prescribed formats demanded by Higher
Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, Punjab Higher
Education Commission (PHEC), Governor’s Secretariat, Chief
Minister’s Secretariat, Federal Bureau of Statistics, L&DD
Dept, Govt. of the Punjab and by the intelligence agencies
etc.

To process the applications of students for correction /
change in their own name(s) or in their father’s name in
the University after fulfillment of prescribed codal
formalities
-
To deal student’s cases in court of Law / Provincial
Ombudsman, Chancellor / Governor’s Secretariat, by
preparing the para-wise comments, reports, replies etc in
consultation with the University Legal Advisor.

To deal the cases of educational / training institutions
seeking affiliation with UVAS, Lahore by fulfilling all
prescribed codal formalities.

To keep the record of students’ new admissions,
enrolments, receipts of prescribed affiliation fees from
affiliated institutions
-
To conduct the meetings of affiliation committees and
ensure the follow up of decisions.

To process the cases of NOC / Permission from the HEC,
Islamabad for starting new postgraduate degree programs on
the prescribed format.

To prepare the agenda & minutes of Deans Committee and
convey its decisions to concerned quarters for needful
action

Litigation Section
Main functions & responsibilities of the Section are:
-
It coordinates between the
University/Schools/Departments/Centers / colleges and the
University legal advisor in handling the court cases.
-
It also coordinates between the lower, higher and apex
courts and the University and apprises the courts with the
viewpoint of the University in various issues through
University Legal Advisor
-
The legal cell submits the partwise comments with the help
of department/section concerned in the suits filed against
the University in courts and make follow up in the court
of law.
-
It also coordinates between various
departments/centers/sections and legal advisor(s) for
obtaining advice on legal issues in day to day working of
the University.
-
It also advises the University on all legal matters,
including disciplinary matters, service matters
affiliation issues etc. wherever is required.
-
It also assists the office of the Registrar is preparing
replies in various cases/appeals.
-
It is also responsible for addressing legal issues arising
out of the activities of the University.
